Introduction to Bachelor of Business Administration General (external) Degree Programme:

The approved name of this course is General (External) Degree Course in Business Administration. It is a three-year degree (general) external course and is conducted in Sinhala medium. Bachelor of Business Administration General (external) Degree Programme was started in 2021 by starting the registration of the students of its first intake. It is a three-year degree (general) external course and is conducted in Sinhala medium. The aim of this course is to guide a person engaged in the field of business management to develop the basic knowledge, skills and attitudinal abilities required to understand the principles of business management and their application, to identify practical problems related to business management and to find the most appropriate solutions to them. In particular, the main objectives of this course are to develop the methodological, analytical and communication skills required to analyze and communicate problems related to business and management. The program structure includes a total of 90 credits and the program contains 27 compulsory courses. The courses are offered throughout the three years including core disciplines such as Management, Marketing, Accounting, Economics, Information Communication Technology (ICT), , Entrepreneurship and Law. Some special courses which are highly demanding in modern business contexts are included in this degree programme. They are Change and Crisis Management, Green Business Management and Operational Excellence All the courses are delivered in online mode while using various strategies to develop students’ knowledge, skill, and positive attitudes and required to hold managerial and related positions both in private and public sector organizations.

Entry qualifications: 

• Three passes in G.C.E. Advanced Level in any stream (Old Syllabus)

• Three passes in G.C.E. Advanced Level in any stream (New Syllabus)

• One year Diploma in Business Management / Diploma in Marketing Management / Diploma in Human Resource Management / Diploma in Financial Management / Higher Diploma in Co-operative Business Management / Diploma in Small Business Management / Level- I of the Banking Examination from a reorganized institute accepted by the university senate with minimum two years work experience in relevant fields.

•  Full or part-qualified in following professional courses, AAT, ACCA, CA Sri Lanka, CIMA-UK, CMA -Sri Lanka, SIM -Sri Lanka, CIM-UK, IPM- Sri Lanka

• Any other qualification agreed/approved by the University senate

Total course fee is 195000 LKR and can be paid as three installments.

·    1stInstalment:

      Registration fee 5000.00 + Course fee for Year I- 75,000.00= 80,000.00

·    2nd Installment: Course fee for Year II - 75,000.00

·     3rd Installment: Course fee for Year III – 40,000.00
