Profile
Mr. PP Sarath Kumara Patabandi, a lecturer in Aquaculture at the Department of Livestock Production, Faculty of Agricultural Sciences at Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka, holds a B.Sc in Agricultural Sciences (specialized in Livestock Production) from SUSL (2010). His academic journey continued with an M.Sc in Aquaculture at Ghent University, Belgium (2015) and ongoing PhD research at the Institute of Climatic Adaptation and Marine Biotechnology, University Malaysia Terengganu, Malaysia in collaboration with the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU). His focus lies in Aquaculture Biotechnology, particularly in enhancing Shrimp immunity through the upregulation of Heat Shock Proteins using naturally available phytochemicals. The ultimate goal of his research is to establish a comprehensive approach to combat diverse infectious diseases within aquaculture.
