Ltd. (FADNA) have bridged in commercializing a herbal tea composed of antidiabetic medicinal herbs with the market title, \u201cDiabe Tea Sabaragamuwa\u201d stamping university\u2019s first product launch. The product was formulated by a research team of the Faculty of Applied Sciences as a funded project by RIC STEM HEMS No: 18 of the AHEAD program.\n<\/br><\/br>\nThis herbal tea is a readily accessible functional food product produced with natural ingredients that can control diabetes mellitus (DM) while promoting a healthy well-being to the whole society. Our new innovation, \u201cDiabe tea Sabaragamuwa\u201d is value-added with \u201cMadan\u2019 and \u201cThripala\u201d blend with black tea (Camellia sinensis) with scientifically proven functional properties such as anti-diabetic and antioxidant activity. Undoubtedly, this product will be a significant benchmark in the value-addition of tea and an attractive business model for the Food and Nature (Pvt.) Ltd.<\/br><\/br>\nThe Licence agreement for commercialising the above product was signed on 15th February, 2021 granting exclusivity to Food and Nature (Pvt) Ltd. The product launching ceremony was held on 30th March 2022 under the brand name of Fadna \u201cDiabe tea Sabaragamuwa\u201d at the Staff Development Centre of the Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka.
