Aims and Objectives

The aim of the Faculty of Technology is to deliver globally recognized student-centered, industry-oriented programs that will produce professionals with ability and skills for creation, innovation and product development with entrepreneurial skills for building their careers in industrial marketplaces related to bio-energy generation, bio-based products, development of sustainable and environmental safe products, bio-waste management and automobile and mechanical engineering technology, which will result in positively contributing to the development of the economy of Sri Lanka. Following are the specific objectives of Faculty of Technology, SUSL.

  1. Provide student-centered degree programs which will ensure that graduates are accomplished in technical expertise, business venture creation, industrial management, soft skills, social awareness and ethical responsibility.

  2. Provide the students with hands-on experience in the state-of-the-art laboratory skills to ensure applied experiential learning.

  3. To engage the students in applied research and in developing partnerships with stakeholders as a means of providing solutions to industrial problems.

  4. To provide a novel program to promote professional development and applied research skills of the graduates.
