Mrs. MRMA Jayasinghe

Mrs. M.R.M.A. Jayasinghe is a lecturer (Probationary) in Physical Education attached to the Department of Sports Sciences and Physical Education, Faculty of Applied Sciences, Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka. She graduated from Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka in 2017 with a Second Class Upper Division in Physical Education. Following her graduation, she joined the Department of Sports Sciences and Physical Education as a member of the academic support staff, where she gained valuable experience in teaching, academic coordination, and departmental activities.

In February 2021, she commenced her academic career as a Lecturer (Probationary) in Physical Education in the same department. Since then, she has been actively engaged in undergraduate teaching, academic activities, research, and professional development in the fields of Physical Education, Sports Sciences, and Early Childhood Physical Development.

From 2024 to 2026, she pursued her Master of Philosophy (MPhil) at the Faculty of Graduate Studies, Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka. Her MPhil research focused on the topic:“Impact of Physical Education Programme on Selected Motor Skills Among Preschool Children.”Her research interests include physical education, motor skill development, gross motor development, preschool physical activity, early childhood education, and physical activity programmes for young children.In addition to her academic qualifications in Physical Education, she successfully completed the Diploma in Preschool Teacher Training conducted by the Center for Open and Distance Learning (CODL), Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka, as a member of the 2025–2026 batch. She is currently awaiting the official release of her diploma results.Mrs. Jayasinghe is committed to continuous professional development and strives to strengthen her academic, teaching, and research competencies. She continues to develop her research profile through academic publications, conferences, professional training, and engagement in research related to Physical Education and early childhood development.Her long-term professional goal is to contribute to the advancement of Physical Education, Sports Sciences, and preschool physical development through teaching, research, and community-oriented educational programmes.
