Kalinga was graduated from the Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka, and working as a lecturer (probationary). His current work is built on the foundation of his successful business career and a serial entrepreneur. He is the founder of the first software technology company in Uva Province, Sri Lanka and he is one of the founding fathers of Uva Startup Hub which is a nonprofit organization for promoting entrepreneurship in Uva Province, Sri Lanka. 

Currently, he's promoting entrepreneurship within the students at the department of computing & information systems and working with industry professionals through the UBL(University Business Linkage) cell for promoting & commercializing the research and innovation.
