    Profile

  • Dr. H.P.R.Priyankara is the former Head of the Department of Business Management of the Faculty of Management Studies. He is a Senior Lecturer in the Faculty of Management Studies and a Visiting Lecturer of the Faculty of Graduate Studies, the Faculty of Applied Sciences, the Faculty of Geomatics,  the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences and Faculty of Social Sciences and Languages of SUSL. 

    His research focuses on Human Resource Management and Organizational Behaviour. Dr. Priyankara received the Outstanding Paper Award at the Emerald Literati Awards 2022 for his joint publication in the Employee Relations Journal. Additionally, he was honored with the Most Cited Researcher Award (2021) and the Highest H-Indexed Researcher Award (2022) by the Faculty of Management Studies, SUSL. He has published over 25 research papers in refereed journals and conferences, including seven publications in journals indexed in the Social Science Citation Index (SSCI), Scopus (Elsevier), and Emerging Sources Citation Index (Clarivate Analytics). As of Aug 2023, his research work has garnered more than 360 citations.

    In terms of professional qualifications, Dr. Priyankara completed the Professional Qualification in Human Resource Management (PQHRM) at the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM) Sri Lanka and is an Associate Member of the institute. Prior to joining SUSL in 2005, he served as the Senior Operations Executive at American Premium Water Systems (Pvt) Ltd for three years.

    He has held the positions of the Director Career Guidance Unit of SUSL, Coordinator of MSc Ayurvedic Hospital Management Degree program (2019 to date), Chairperson of MBA Curriculum Revision Committee (2022), Coordinator of University Development Grant of Higher Education for Twenty-first Century (HETC) project of SUSL (2013-2014), Coordinator of Soft Skills component of University Development Grant of Higher Education for Twenty-first Century (HETC) project of SUSL (2013-2014), Coordinator of Quality and Innovation Grant (QIG) of BSc Business Management (Special) Degree of the HETC Project (2014) and Cordinator of Practical Training Unit of Faculty of Management Studies (2008).
