Department of Anatomy

The discipline-based curriculum is practising by the university with standard teaching learning and assessment methodologies. Human anatomy is an essential foundation subject to the study of medicine. Anatomy describes the structure from the molecular level to the organism level. Human anatomy studies the way that, morphology, location and function of organs and systems that have their own unique function yet interact with one another to make up the machinery of a complex living individual. It is an extensive field of study that has various subdivisions and specialities as follows;

 

Gross Anatomy

Study of anatomical features visible to the naked eye, such as internal organs and external features.

Histology

Microscopic anatomy of the organs and systems at cellular and subcellular levels.

Embryology

Learning of intricate process   of human prenatal development and basis of various congenital defects that may occur.

Human Genetics

The course in human genetics will cover the principles of basic medical genetics applicable to clinical medicine.

Radiological anatomy

Radiological anatomy is the study of the body and its organs and tissues using x-ray imaging.

Clinical Anatomy

Clinical anatomy deals with the practical application of anatomical knowledge to patient s management in a clinical setup.
