GEOWEEK 2021 Web Launching Ceremony
On 18th November 2021, the Website of the GEOWEEK 2021 was launched at a ceremony held at the Vice-Chancellor’s office at the university with the presence of Prof. Udaya Rathnayake (Vice-Chancellor). Strictly adhering to the health guidelines concerning the current COVID-19 pandemic, this gathering was limited to 5 physical participants representing the organizing committee. In addition, the University community, including the academic, administrative, and non-academic staff members and students joined the ceremony through a live Zoom event.
The GEOWEEK2021 will be held from 29 November - 3 December 2021 at the Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka, Belihuloya, Sri Lanka. The purpose of GEOWEEK2021 is to strengthen relationships between industry and academia in Geospatial science and applications, promote research in its discipline, and scientific exchange among researchers and scholars. GEOWEEK2021 will have various open discussion forums, round table discussions, a virtual trade exhibition in the Geospatial industry and several technical sessions inviting speakers, industry experts’ talks and workshops.
