Mr. Ushantha received his Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Marketing Management degree from the Department of Marketing Management, Faculty of Management Studies, Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka (SUSL) in 2003 and gained his Master of Arts (MA) in Marketing degree from the Department of Business and Service Sector Management, London Metropolitan University, United Kingdom in 2005. In 2008, he joined with the Department of Marketing Management in Faculty of Management Studies, SUSL as a Temporary Lecturer and was promoted as a Probationary Lecturer, Lecturer and Senior Lecturer Grade II in 2009, 2014 and 2016 respectively. Currently he is conducting lecturers on Consumer Behaviour, Services Marketing, Retail Marketing and Sustainable Marketing. He also conducts lectures on Food Marketing for the Department of Food and Technology in Faculty of Applied Sciences, SUSL and Tourism Marketing for the Diploma Course in Tourism and Hospitality offered by the Centre for Open and Distance Learning (CODL), SUSL.
