Profile

Dr. (Mrs.) Ruvini K. Mutucumarana is currently serving as a Senior lecturer (Grade I) attached to the Department of Livestock Production, Faculty of Agricultural Sciences, Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka. Dr. Mutucumarana entered to the University of Peradeniya in 1994 and graduated with B.V. Sc. In 1999 from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science, University of Peradeniya. She is a registered veterinary surgeon and a practitioner at the Veterinary Council of Sri Lanka since 2000. She had obtained MPhil, in Animal Science from PGIA, University of Peradeniya in 2009. She is a Commonwealth Scholar and obtained her doctoral degree from Institute of Veterinary, Animal and Biomedical Sciences, Massey University, Palmerston North, New Zealand in 2015. Her field of specilaization is poultry nutrition and she conducts lectures related to poultry science and health, animal nutrition and microlivestock production to the undergraduates of the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences. She has several publications in both local and reputed international journals such as Poultry Science, Journal of Animal Science, Animal Feed Science and Technology, and Journal of Poultry Science under her field of specialization. Her research interest is focused basically on digestibility measurements in poultry feed ingredients, endogenous mineral losses in poultry and non-conventional feed resources for poultry. She also contributes her service as a reviewer to numbers of national and international peer reviewed journals.
