| ATBC Award - Dr. Enoka P. Kudavidanage |

Dr. Enoka P. Kudavidanage of the Department of Natural Resources is one of
the ten global recipients of the competitive travel grant awarded by the
Association for Tropical Biology and Conservation to participate to the
49th Annual Meeting that will be held in June 2012 in Bonito, Mato Grosso
Do Sul, Brazil. The ATBC 2012 meeting's theme is "Ecology, Evolution and
Sustainable use of Tropical Biodiversity" and Dr. Kudavidanage will be
presenting her research on Selective logging and land-use change in the
tropical lowlands of Sri Lanka: implications for conservation. She is also
the present country coordinator for the ATBC Asia Pacific chapter and was
awarded the best presenter at the meeting in 2011. |
