The Department of Agribusiness Management, Faculty of Agricultural Sciences, organized a one-day workshop on “B.Sc. (Food Business Management) Degree Program”
for Academics and Key Industry Stakeholders on 31st August 2016, at the Auditorium of Staff Development Centre (SDC) of Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka. Improve the awareness level of university academics and industry stakeholders regarding the proposed degree program, finalize the course capsules developed for the proposed degree program, develop strong links with the industry in the delivery of the proposed degree program, and to set the platform to create an excellent learning environment at the Faculty and the Department were the key objectives of this workshop.
As Industry Representatives, Mr. Sarath Alahakoon (Chairman-Country Style Foods (Pvt.) Ltd.), Mr. Upul Rajapakse (General Manager-CBL Natural Foods), Mr. YD Chithrananda (Deputy General Manager-Operations, Lanka Spice (Pvt.) Ltd.), Mr. Isuru Ratnayake (Head of Sales, Lanka Spice (Pvt.) Ltd.), and Ms. Dilini Pathirage (R&D Manager, Lanka Spice (Pvt.) Ltd.) participated to the workshop. The university academics and the key industry stakeholders were the target audience of the workshop.
This one-day workshop was organized by the Department of Agribusiness Management of Faculty of Agricultural Sciences in collaboration with Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences under the supervision of Prof. R. P. Mahaliyanaarachchi (Chair of the Department and the Coordinator of the Degree Program) and was coordinated by Mr. Isuru Hettiarachchi, Lecturer (Prob.) of Faculty of Agricultural Sciences.
