Profile

Thilantha Dammmalage, graduated with a Second (upper) class BSc (Special) Surveying Sciences degree from the Faculty of Geomatics, SUSL in 2003 and he earned his postgraduate degrees, Master of Science (MSc) and Doctor of Engineering (D.Eng.) in Remote Sensing and GIS from the School of Engineering and Technology, Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Thailand in 2006 and 2009 respectively. During his employment from 2007 to present, Thilantha has served as the Head of the Department, Department of Remote Sensing and GIS, Faculty of Geomatics, from 2010 to 2013 and from 2015 to 2016. He has significantly contributed to the academic development of the Faculty and University as a whole at various capacities including Director, Staff Development Centre (SDC), Chairman, Geomatics Board of Study, Faculty of Graduate Studies and Programme Coordinator, Master of Science in Surveying Sciences Degree. In addition, he rendered his service as a research specialist and a consultant for several national projects and he has a very good record of collaborative research work with reputed international researchers.
