| Two-Day Workshop |
| Sponsored by the US Embassy, Sri Lanka |
| |
| "Innovative Pedagogical Practices in the Twenty-First Century: English in Practice" |
| |
| Objectives: |
| The primary goal of the Two-Day Workshop is to get ELT (i.e. English Language Teaching) practitioners to examine the "best practices in the field" and suggest new ways to teach English effectively. A secondary goal is to help those instructors who use English as the medium of instruction (i.e. to teach content in other fields of expertise, for example, in the social sciences, applied sciences, management, agricultural science, etc.) to explore the possibility of being involved in innovative pedagogical practices in the context of ESP (i.e. English for Specific Purposes). Thus, the objective of this conference is to bring both ELT and non-ELT professionals closer to meeting international standards by raising their awareness of the current issues in classroom teaching where English is used as the medium of instruction. |
