| The center consists of five main sections. Namely Research Grants committee, Publication committee, Symposium/conference/ workshop organization committee, Extension and public awareness committee and International Relations committee. |

| Research Grants Committee - Objectives |
| |
 |
To award research grants to the SUSL academics to promote research culture of the university. |
|
To coordinate, monitor and evaluate research projects. |
|
To raise funds for research activities. |
|
To provide financial assistance to the staff members who travel abroad for scientific presentations. |

| Publication committee - Objectives |
| |
|
To edit and publish the SUSL journal, other University publications, news letters and monographs etc. |
|
To maintain a database of publications of the SUSL academics. |
|

| Symposium/conference/ workshop organization committee - Objectives: |
| |
|
To organize National/International symposia, conferences to discuss research findings and exchange knowledge among local and International scientific community. |

|
To organize workshops for academic staff (other than workshops conducted by SDC). |

| Extension and public awareness Committee - Objectives: |
| |
|
To organize extension and public awareness programmes to disseminate knowledge to the community (General public, villagers, farmers, school teachers, school children etc.). |

| International Relations Committee - Objectives: |

To promote SUSL academic programmes at International level. |
|
To coordinate International collaborative activities of the SUSL. |

To promote SUSL staff to build links with International organizations and Universities. |

To network International research and other service programmes conducted by different Faculties of the University and by individual staff members. |
