Examination Criteria

Each course module is evaluated through an examination. The final examination will carry 60% of the final marks. An appropriate proposition of marks not exceeding 40% will be assigned to practical, assessments, quizzes and attendance of each course module. The course module will be evaluated by the Lecturer or Instructor who conducts the module based on all above mentioned evaluations and totaled up to 100 marks.

Mid Examination

Group project               -  40%

Assignments                 -  20%

Practical Examination    -  40%

Final Examination

Practical paper             -  60%

project & Viva              -  30%

Assignments                -  10%

Final Examination      = mid examination-30% +Final Examination -70%+Assignments- 10% = 100%

Grades and Grade Points

A letter grade assigned for each course module. The cut-off marks and the corresponding grade points are given below.

  1. All E grades should be upgraded at the first available opportunity.
  2. The maximum grade given for the repeat examination shall be C.

Grade Point Average (GPA)

n - Number of subjects
GP (i)  – Grade point of ith subject
CP (i)  – Credit point of ith subject
N - Number of credits assigned for the course

Pass

The candidate must obtain at lease the minimum grade of C for each course module securing final GPA grater or equal 2.00.

Awards of Merits

Final grades will be calculated on the basis of the average marks of the two papers and the practical component.
